Millefiori, better known as murrina, is one of the most famous and most sought-after processes when it comes to Murano glass.
Literally it means “thousand flowers” in Italian, and it’s really a good name, because the final result of this process is very reminiscent of a set of colorful flowers.
It is a process that was undertaken at the beginning of the 16th century, when some masters in Murano tried to imitate the ancient technique created by the Romans.
Incredible objects were created and this technique was refined, to the point of representing in a few millimeters faces of nobles and kings and indistinguishable brands.
